Apple Pie Motherhood Band
Jeff Labes, organ, piano Bruce Paine, vocals A psychedelic "Bosstown Sound" act of 1968, the group traveled to the mid- West and toured the East Coast on the strength of all the hype. Not a bad act at all, they headlined locally. All the boys sang. Felix Pappalardi produced one of the LP cuts, "Apple Pie." The album's intro was a Booker T tune, "Born Under a Bad Sign. The act was once known as Sacred Mushroom, while an even earlier incarnation was dubbed C.C. and The Chasers as befitted the times. Labes went on to Jonathan Edwards, Orphan and Bonnie Raitt outfits over time. |
